Spring Semester Final Review

Spring Semester Final Review is HERE!

Begin reviewing now!
In class review Wednesday 5/22 and Friday 5/24

Extra Credit due Friday 5/24
- Write a test based on spring semester material
- Test must be composed of 20 questions; questions can be a combination of multiple choice, T/F, matching, short answer, fill in the blank
- Test must be typed
- Complete answer key must be provided
- Print a copy to turn in and one to keep for your own studies

Final Day Breakfast Review
Period 6: Thursday, 5/31; 7:15 am review, bring something to share for breakfast and come prepared for a final review session

From memory, what are the classes within the phylums Mollusca, Arthropoda, and Chordata?
Give an example of an animal in each class.

Today in class we:
- Picked dates to present for Hawaii Animal Projects
- Worked on Animal classification game


Do Now answers:
Phylum Mollusca: Gastropoda (snails, slugs), Cephalopoda (squids, octopus), Bivalve (clams, oysters), Polyplacaphora (chiton)
Phylum Arthropoda: Insecta (all insects), Arachnida (spiders, mites, ticks, scorpions), Chillapoda(Centipedes), Diplopoda (milipedes), Crustaceans (lobsters, crabs, shrimp)
Phylum Chordata: Osteiochythes (bony fish), Chondriochythes (sharks, rays, skates), Amphibia (frogs, toads, salamanders), Reptilia (turtles, snakes, lizards), Aves (birds), Mammalia (mammals).

What phylum do we belong to?
What class do we belong to?
How are the following animals most closely related: Snails and slugs? Butterflies and beetles? Starfish and urchins? Clams and oysters

Today in class we discussed:
Characteristics used to classify animals
Phylum Porifera: Reproduction, Life cycle, Anatomy
See some footage of zoologists studying porifera

Homework (pd 8 - pd 6 can also do this to get ahead, will be assigned Monday)
Read section 3 and do the section review on pg 25 1-4 all.
On seperate paper draw and label the life cycle of both porifera and cnidarian
